Description

This is a terrace of three houses located on The Mount Square, dating to the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and subject to alterations over time. The houses are constructed of multi-coloured stock brick, with number 7 being painted. Numbers 4 and 5 have slated, hipped roofs.

Number 4 is three storeys high with two windows. It features a 20th-century Georgian doorcase with a radial-patterned fanlight and panelled door. The windows are recessed sashes with shutters, set within cambered red brick arches.

Number 5 also has three storeys and two windows. The ground floor has been refronted in the 20th century, incorporating a cornice above the sashes, which project forward to form a hood over the panelled door with overlight. The windows are recessed sashes with exposed boxing, set within cambered red brick arches.

Number 7 is two storeys high with one window. It has a round-arched doorway, with a blocked fanlight and half-glazed door. Recessed sashes are set within cambered brick arches, and a parapet tops the facade. The right-hand return elevation features a square-headed entrance with enriched brackets and a six-panel door, with the top panels glazed. The interiors have not been inspected. Historically, number 7 served as the laundry for Old Grove House in Hampstead Grove.
