Description

The tomb of George Holyoake is located in Highgate (Eastern) Cemetery and dates from around 1906. It features a granite headstone with a central attached column, which is inscribed with political quotations. The headstone is topped with scrolls that flank a finely sculptured stone portrait bust of Holyoake. George Holyoake was known as a Chartist and a propagandist for the co-operative movement.
