Description

A pair of terraced houses, likely originally a single dwelling, located on the north side of Hampstead High Street. The building dates from the early 18th century and has been altered, with late 19th-century shops built out over the forecourt. The houses are three storeys high and comprise two windows for No. 45 and one window for No. 46. They are constructed of brown brick with a stucco front, topped by a tiled roof.

The shops have been altered in the 20th century. No. 45 features grey granite half columns supporting a fascia with a dentil cornice and console bracket stops. No. 46 has pilasters at the angles supporting enriched console bracket stops to a 20th-century fascia. The upper floors have slightly recessed sash windows with exposed boxing; the right-hand windows of No. 45 are early 19th-century tripartite sashes. A parapet sits atop the building. The rear facade includes segmental-arched sash windows with flush frames and exposed boxing. The interior remains uninspected.
