Description
The Jankovich Mausoleum is a square structure built in an Egyptianising Classical style, featuring a pedimented roof and detached corner columns. It is constructed from grey granite, which is used for the columns and the plain frieze above. The main body of the mausoleum is made of channelled masonry, with pairs of flat pilasters framing each side. The entrance consists of a square-headed doorway with a battered surround that holds ornamental wrought-iron gates. Above the lintel, the inscription 'REQUIESCANT IN PACE' can be found. On the right-hand wall, there is a marble plaque commemorating 'Flora, beloved wife of Major Lajos de Jankovich' (who died in 1909), along with her mother Theresia Schmidt (who died in 1914) and other family members.
