Description
The former stables of Ousden Hall is a late 18th century red brick building. It consists of a main block that is two storeys high, flanked by two single-storey wings extending to the east. The west front features a window arrangement of 2:3:2, with the central section, which has three windows, slightly projecting forward. Both the north and south ends have three windows each, while the wings have five windows each. The building has double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, although these are now in a dilapidated state. The main block's windows are adorned with stone fleur de lis above their heads, and the first-storey centre windows on the west front are bulls eye windows. A raised brick band runs between the two storeys. The roof is slate, hipped on the west front and triple pitched on the east side of the main block, though it was noted to be in a state of disrepair at the time of the survey. The stables, along with the Church of St Peter and the dovecote, form a cohesive group.
