Description
Majors Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century and early 17th century, with an 18th-century wing. The building has two storeys and features three windows. It has a three-cell, lobby entrance plan and is constructed of timber framing that is rendered, with 20th-century false half-timbering. The roof is thatched and includes 17th-century axial and gable chimneys. The windows are 20th-century leaded casements. There is a two-storeyed gabled thatched entrance porch with a plank door. The left side of the farmhouse is a two-cell late 16th-century section that is 1½ storeys high, which was later extended with a two-storey parlour block and axial chimney in the early 17th century. The roof-line of the 16th-century section was raised, and a rear wing was added in the 18th century.
