Description
Street Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with alterations made in the 17th century and early 19th century. The 19th-century cross-wing creates a T-shaped plan. The building has two storeys and three windows, constructed of painted brick with a slated roof. The windows from the 19th century feature segmental heads and include mullioned and transomed casements. The entrance door, also from the 19th century, has four panels with reeded and panelled reveals, a segmental fanlight, and is sheltered by an open wrought iron porch. The rear wing is timber-framed and rendered, designed with a two-cell lobby entrance plan, and has two storeys and attics. It has a concrete tiled roof with an axial red brick chimney and a gabled casement dormer. Originally, the 16th-century house consisted of two cells and was one and a half storeys high. The chimney was inserted, the central section was rebuilt, and the roof was raised in the late 17th century.
