Description
The Tudor Annexe is a house that now serves as an annexe to the Chantry Hotel. It dates from the 16th or 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The building features a timber frame that is rendered, with red brick on the south gable wall, and has a 20th-century plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high and consists of one bay with an end chimney stack, and it jetties along the street frontage. There is one window on each storey, both of which are 16-pane sashes set in moulded cased frames. The entrance door has four panels and is framed in wood with plain reveals and a rectangular fanlight. Inside, the upper storey has exposed timbers along the front wall, which includes part close-studded construction with a tension brace and part re-used timbers. The end wall on the north side features wide studding.
