Description

Coney Weston Hall is a house dating from the early 19th century, with an earlier core. It is two storeys tall and has a complex form. The building is constructed of white brick that has been colour-washed, except for the shafts of the chimney-stacks, and is topped with black glazed pantiles. The main (east) front features end chimney-stacks and a shallow-pitched roof with a mutule cornice. The façade has a window arrangement of 2:3:2, with small-paned sashes set in deep reveals. The three central windows are framed by four two-storey pilasters, topped with a triangular pediment.

On the west side, there are three canted bays, two of which have tented roofs, all featuring small-paned sash windows. The south front includes an internal chimney-stack with a plain white brick shaft, a string-course, and a brick dentil cornice. A projecting canted bay houses the entrance door, which is surrounded in a Georgian style, with small-paned sash windows above. There is one dormer for the attic storey, featuring a lead-covered rounded head and a circular window with leaded panes.

The south range contains fragments of 17th-century timberwork and is the oldest part of the house, originally appearing to be L-shaped, with evidence of a wing that extended beyond the current entry bay. The interior fittings are mainly early 19th century or, if of a later date, in Regency style, including a staircase with a curved handrail and plain balusters, as well as some Jacobean panelling in the entrance hall.
