Description

The Malting House is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered building located on the west side of Callis Street in Clare. It features a gabled front and stands two storeys tall, with one window range that includes double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. The entrance is marked by a six-panel door with raised and fielded panels, which is framed by a doorcase that has an architrave and a cornice hood. The roof is tiled and includes a diagonally shafted red brick chimney stack that sits on a rectangular base. This building is part of a group of listed structures on Callis Street.
