Description

Mizpah and Rawhide are an early 19th-century pair of houses located on Lower Street. They are timber-framed and plastered, standing two storeys high with a five-window range. The windows are double-hung sashes without glazing bars, set in cased frames. The ground storey features three-light windows with cornices. The houses have paired six-panel doors, each with narrow pilasters and cornices. The roofs are hipped and covered with slate. Mizpah, Rawhide, and the nearby Railway Arms Public House, along with Wedcot and the adjoining house, and Sunnyside, form a cohesive group.
