Description

Pentlow Bridge is a road bridge over the River Stour, built around 1886. It is constructed of red brick and features chamfered stone coping. The bridge has two round-headed arches with central pointed cutwaters. On the east and west faces, between the arches, there are round stone plaques displaying the three Seaxes, which is the Essex Coat of Arms, along with the date 1886. This bridge is noted for being an unusually elaborate example of a late 19th-century road bridge.
