Description

Roundhouse Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage that was formerly a gamekeeper's cottage for the Ickworth Estate. It has two storeys and a circular plan. The walls are colour washed and rendered, featuring painted timber-framing that forms a frieze at the upper wall level beneath the open eaves. The roof is a slated conical shape with a central circular chimney made of red header bricks. The cottage has four-light horizontal sliding small-pane sash windows. The entrance door is four-panelled and is set in a recessed open porch, which is supported by massive circular columns on the upper floor.
