Description
Horringer House is a house built in the early 19th century, with parts dating back to the 18th century and alterations made around 1840. The south garden front features two storeys and four windows, constructed from gault brick, topped with a parapet that has a dentil cornice. The roof is hipped and slated, with gault brick chimneys. The windows have gauged brick flat arches and small-pane sashes, and there is a splayed two-storey bay window on the left. A pair of French doors is accompanied by an oblong fanlight. To the right, there is a four-storey tower added around 1840 in the Italianate style, made of red brick with gault brick dressings (previously colour-washed) and a slated pyramid roof. This tower features sash windows with open balustrated balconies made of sandstone. The west wall showcases red brickwork from the early 18th century, which is a remnant of an earlier house, and there is an early 20th-century open timber-framed porch added to the main entrance.
