II

House, early C19, with fragmentary C18 core, and alterations c.1840. South garden front; 2 storeys, 4 windows. Gault brick; parapet with dentil cornice. Hipped slated roof with gault brick chimneys. Windows with gauged brick flat arches and small-pane sashes: a splayed 2 storey bay to left. Pair of French doors with oblong fanlight. A 4-storey tower to right, added c.1840, in the Italianate style; red brick with gault brick dressings (formerly colour-washed); slated pyramid roof; sash windows with open balustrated balconies of sandstone. Red brickwork to west wall, early C18; a fragment of previous house, with early C20 open timber-framed porch added to main entrance.
