Description

No. 31 High Street is a 17th century house that features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with a brick front added in the late 18th or early 19th century. The south side has a painted parapet and is two storeys high, displaying three windows on the front and one on the west gable end. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in plain reveals. The ground floor includes a 19th century shop front with a corner entrance. There is a four-panel door with deep reveals, framed by a wood doorcase that has narrow pilasters and a cornice hood. A wing extends to the north with one window range. The roof is tiled. No. 31, along with Nos. 1 to 8 consecutively and all the listed buildings on Well Lane, forms a group.
