Description
Westley Hall is a house dating from the early 16th century, with alterations made in the early 18th century and early 19th century. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring three windows. It is constructed of gault brick and includes parapets and a dentil cornice. The roof is plaintiled and has axial chimneys made of red brick. The small-pane sash windows are topped with gauged brick flat arches. There is a recessed entrance porch that has a pediment and flat pilasters, also made of gault brick. The north side of the house retains an early 16th century timber-framed core, likely originally a two-cell structure with an axial chimney. The first floor features roll-moulded beams and joists and once had a jettied upper floor at the east end wall. Around 1700, the house was extended and re-roofed, creating a double-pile plan. The entrance front was modified in the early 19th century by extending to the west in gault brick.
