Description
The drinking fountain and horse trough, built in 1910, commemorates Sir Daniel Cooper, Bart. Designed in the Baroque style, it has an elliptical plan and stands about 5 metres high. The structure is made of Portland stone, while the trough is crafted from grey granite. It is raised on steps and features an elliptical entablature supported by two piers, each adorned with pilasters and carved drapery at the base. The entire fountain is topped with an urn that also displays drapery, making it an exceptionally fine example of a monumental drinking fountain.
