Description
Grafton House is a house that dates from the mid-19th century, with a core that originates from the mid-16th century. It has two storeys and attics, featuring a three-cell lobby entrance plan. The gable front is made of stuccoed gault brick and includes a crow-stepped parapet gable and a moulded cornice. The roof is pantiled and has flat-roofed dormers with sash windows, along with axial and gable chimneys made of gault brick. The 19th-century sash windows and entrance door are adorned with architraves and moulded cornices on brackets, while the panelled door is set back between panelled reveals. Inside, the parlour, which faces the High Street, showcases ogee moulded first-floor joists from the mid-16th century.
