Description

The bridge over the River Lark, located on Eastgate Street in Bury St Edmunds, was built in 1840. It features purpose-made cast-iron handrails with arched ornamentation in the Gothic style. The structure is supported by octagonal brick piers that have stone plinths and capping. The railings on both approaches to the bridge are in a different style and were previously used to surround the Market Cross.
