Description

Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century and early 19th century, with later additions. It has two storeys and is constructed from a mix of white brick and timber framing, with parts covered in white brick. The roof is made up of pantiles and plaintiles. The main part of the house, which is L-shaped, is from the early 19th century and connects to the older section on the west, partially surrounding it on the north side.

The north side features a brick dentil cornice and has two tripartite windows on each storey, which have small-paned sashes and segmental arched heads with brick surrounds. There is a central doorway with a plain semi-circular arched surround, featuring a six-panel door with raised fielded panels and egg-and-dart decoration on both sides. Above the door, there is a small-paned sash window.

The east side, facing the garden, likely originally matched the north side, but the doorway has been blocked, and the window above it is now false. The windows on the north-east side have been replaced by a two-storey flat-roofed canted bay from the early 20th century, featuring sash windows without glazing bars. On the south side, there is a single-storey five-sided bay added around 1870, which has large-paned sash windows.

The older section of the farmhouse consists of a three-bay timber-framed range, faced in white brick on the south side, and has a long 1½ storey lean-to in red brick with a pantiled roof on the north. This section features irregularly spaced mid-19th century two-light casement windows with wooden hood-moulds in a Tudor style, along with some mid-20th century replacement windows. Inside, only some main beams are visible, indicating that this range was likely the original farmhouse.
