Description
Gasthorpe Post Office is a building that serves both as a post office and a domestic residence. It dates from the early 18th century and was altered in the mid 19th century. The structure is timber framed and has been refaced in gault brick, topped with a thatched roof. It is one storey high with an attic. To the left, there is a 19th-century canted shop front featuring intact glazing bars in the window. The rest of the windows are from the 20th century. The building has a gabled roof with bargeboards and an internal stack on the north gable. At the rear, there is a two-storey cross wing from the 19th century that has a pantiled roof. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
