Description
Manor House is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, with a mid-16th century wing at the rear. The building has two storeys and three windows, constructed of red brick with a parapet on the main part of the frontage. It features a concrete plaintiled roof with gable and axial chimneys made of red brick. The sash windows have flat arches of gauged brick and small l-pane sashes. The entrance doorway, from the early 19th century, includes panelled pilasters, a cornice, and an oblong fanlight with glazing bars; it has a 20th-century panelled door. The two-cell rear wing, from the 16th century, is timber-framed and rendered, with 20th-century casements; it originally extended further back until the 20th century. The wing displays good close-studding and evidence of unglazed windows, along with a substantial clasped-purlin roof. An attic floor was inserted in the 17th century, and there is an early 19th-century two-storey extension to the north of the rear wing.
