Description
The Lodge is a house with a core dating from the 17th century, which was altered in the early 19th century. It has a T-shaped form and stands two storeys high. The main range runs north-south and is timber-framed, slightly extended along the east front and faced with white brick from the early 19th century. The rear range runs east-west and is rendered. There are end chimney-stacks on the main range, set externally on the gables. The building features a five-window range with small-paned sash windows in cased frames, topped with flat gauged arches. The upper storey windows are smaller and have vertical bars only. The entrance has panelled double doors with a semi-circular fanlight above. Inside the rear range, some timber-framing is partly exposed. Additionally, there is a two-storey brick extension from around 1870 in the north-east corner, which has windows with heavy arched surrounds and a dentil cornice, along with a band of decorated bricks similar to those found on the nearby school.
