Description
The garden walling located 50 yards west of Sir John Hervey's summerhouse is a 18th-century structure. It measures 30 yards in length and runs in a north-south direction within an enclosed walled garden. The wall is constructed of red brick, with the upper courses rebuilt in the 19th century and finished with concrete copings. At the southern end, there is a terminal pier made of finely gauged brickwork, characteristic of early 18th-century design, featuring a moulded oversailing cornice, a plinth, and a scrolled buttress that connects the pier head to the top of the wall. This structure has group value with the walled garden and Sir John Hervey's summerhouse.
