Description
The Old Rectory is a house dating from the early 17th century, consisting of two sections of differing heights. The main part is a single-cell parlour range, while a smaller section to the right is likely older. The building is timber framed and plastered, featuring a plain tiled roof, except for the rear of the right section, which has a pantiled roof. It stands two storeys and an attic on the left side and one and a half storeys on the right.
The house has 19th-century casement windows, with pointed arches in the upper part of the lights on the main section. There is an ogee-headed window with Y-tracery and square-leaded panes in the left gable. A mid-20th-century gabled entrance porch and door are present, along with a gable stack to the right of the main range. Inside, the main part features an ovolo-moulded bridging beam on the ground floor, exposed first floor framing, original newel stairs with two flights, and floorboarding. The roof is constructed with side purlins and cranked wind-bracing.
