Description
The Jubilee Village Pump, built in 1897 to commemorate the Jubilee of Queen Victoria, is a village pump located at Woolpit Green Hill. It is sheltered by a circular structure supported by four oak posts, which are open and topped with a conical shingled roof featuring an ornate wrought iron spike finial. Each post showcases Perpendicular Gothic tracery at the lower level and supports a carved figure of Queen Victoria at the top. Braces create a shallow elliptical arch between the posts, with spandrels adorned with foliage and a key-block that bears a lion's head. The pump itself is encased in wood, with tracery carved on three sides; the fourth side features an inscription above the spout. A motto is displayed around a frieze at the top of the structure.
