Description

Allfield Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating to the mid-16th century, with an 18th-century kitchen addition to the left. It was renovated in the 1970s, when the main range was extended to the right. The house is timber-framed and rendered, with clay pantiles on the main range and concrete pantiles on the 18th-century addition. It has a two-cell, end-chimney form. The house has two storeys and an attic, while the 18th-century addition is 1½ storeys high. The windows are casement windows without glazing bars, all dating from the 1970s. A boarded door is located on the left side. The stack features an axial shaft.

The interior retains some good close studding, particularly on the upper floor. There is evidence of diamond-mullioned windows, with one upper window remaining intact. The ground floor front wall studs have been lost. The interior has plain joists set flat, and a later upper ceiling. A service chamber contains a late 16th-century axial partition with a doorway. A good, intact upper fireplace features two square recesses above the lintol. The roof is a clasped purlin roof with cambered collars. Formerly known as Daisy Green Farmhouse.
