Description

Green Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse located in Wickham Skeith. It features a timber-framed structure with plastering and a thatched roof. The building originally had three cells, but the service end on the left side has been lost, leaving it with two cells. It stands two storeys high and has two windows with various casements, along with a plank door. Inside, there is an internal stack with an axial shaft made of narrow brick. The parlour has chamfered joists, while the hall's joists are plastered over. The front wall displays some exposed studding and a blocked cross-entry doorway with a four-centre arched head. A small section of the original plank and muntin screen remains against the former cross-passage, and there is a rebuilt newel stair. The upper floor has not been examined.
