Description

The Symonds Memorial is a chest tomb located about 12 meters south of the Church of St. Mary. It dates from 1766 and is dedicated to R. Symonds. The tomb is made of ashlar stone and features a moulded base and capping. The inscribed cap stone has arms in relief at the head. The sides measure 2 by 1 feet and are adorned with egg and dart fielded raised panels. Fluted angle pilasters are present, and the central pilasters on the long sides display relief cherub's heads and garlands.
