Description
Chilton Court, formerly known as Chilton Hall Farm, is an early 19th-century house that now serves as a residential home for the elderly. It features an L-shaped plan and is constructed of gault brick beneath slate roofs. The façade is two storeys high and has a two-window range, with clasping pilaster strips at the corners. The central bay slightly projects forward and contains a six-panelled and fielded door, which is set within a reeded doorcase and has panelled reveals. Above the door is a four-vaned fanlight. On either side of the door, there is one sash window with 8/8 glazing bars, and three identical sashes are located on the first floor. The eaves cornice is adorned with paired mutules, and the hipped roof has a stack on the side walls. A two-storey rear wing was extended in 1980, when the house became surrounded by extensions on three sides.
