Description
Church Rise is a cottage dating from the 18th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and rendered exterior, featuring panels of comb pargetting. The roof is covered with clay pantiles and the building has one and a half storeys with a two-cell plan. There are two end chimney stacks; the one on the right is set externally, while the one on the left is positioned just within the gable end. The cottage has two gabled dormers, each with plain bargeboards and two-light casement windows that have a single bar across the lights. On the ground floor, there are two three-light plain casement windows. The central entrance door consists of four raised fielded panels within a plain surround. Inside, the studding and main beams are exposed, with some timbers being reused, including one main beam that features a roll and hollow moulding. A two-storey rear wing was added around 1970.
