Description
The Old Sunday School, also known as the Parish Room, is a parish room built as a Sunday School by Mr. John Martineau in 1902. It features heavy timber-framing with red brick herringbone nogging and a roof covered in plaintiles. The roof is hipped with a large gablet on the north side and gabled on the south side. The building is a single storey. At the center front, there is a full height gable that projects outwards, which includes a high 5-light window with a transom. Above this window, an overhanging tie-beam is supported by doubled solid brackets and is inscribed with the text 'Suffer the little children to come unto me.' The apex of the gable has diagonal timbering with rendered infill. This building is included for its group value.
