Description
The remains of St Peter's Church are located in Ashfield cum Thorpe and date back to the medieval period, possibly the 12th century. The ruins include part of a round tower made of flint rubble, which stands in two fragments to a maximum height of approximately 12 meters. To the west, there is an incomplete ground floor window opening and a small section of a window above it. Higher up to the north, there is part of another window. The lower walls are plastered on the inside. Attached to the northeast are small remains of the nave, constructed from red brick. It is noted that the nave and chancel were rebuilt in 1739 and were later demolished after the opening of Ashfield church in 1853.
