Description

This description is for a pair of medieval burial stones located 3 meters south of the south aisle of the Church of St Ethelbert in Hessett. The stones are made of limestone and each measures about 2 meters by 1 meter. They are rectangular in shape, slightly raised above ground level, and feature a coping with a roll at the ridge. At the east end, the roll spreads in a stepped manner down both slopes of each stone. Both burial stones are identical and are positioned less than 0.5 meters apart.
