Description

May Cottage is a house, likely dating from 1743. It is a one-storey and attic building with a two-cell lobby-entrance plan. The house has a timber frame and plastered walls, and a thatched roof with two eyebrow dormers inserted in the mid-20th century. A red brick chimney, built in the 18th century with a cruciform plan, stands axially. The windows are small-pane casements dating from the mid-20th century. A flat-roofed porch with French doors was added in the mid-20th century to the lobby-entrance position. A raised plaster cartouche on the front wall to the left displays the initials IMA above the date 1743. The interior has not been inspected, and the building is included on the list for its group value.
