Description
Little Finborough Hall is a former manor house located on Bildeston Road. It dates from the late 18th century but has a core that dates back to the mid-16th century. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with plaintiled roofs featuring internal 18th-century chimneys made of red brick. The main range has three windows, with a lower 16th-century range to the right and another range from the 19th or 20th century to the left. The house is two storeys high and features late 18th-century casement windows, mostly with three lights and transoms above. The entrance has a 6-panelled door from the 18th century, flanked by pilasters, with a dummy fanlight and a triangular pediment above. The 16th-century section consists of two cells typical of a farmhouse, showcasing unmoulded heavy framing and a clasped purlin roof. There is also a probable fragment of a medieval moat nearby.
