Description

America Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with some rebuilding that occurred around 1950. It has a three-cell plan and stands two storeys tall. The structure is timber-framed and plastered, featuring an oversailing tiebeam on the left-hand gable of the parlour block. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and there is an axial chimney made of red brick from the 17th century, which has a sawtooth shaft. The windows are small-pane casements, with those on the left dating from the 19th or 20th century and those on the right dating from around 1950. There is also a 20th-century gabled entrance porch, which has a glazed panelled door.
