Description
No. 10 Aspall Road is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, with some areas designed to resemble ashlar stonework. The left gable end features widely spaced exposed studs. The roof is covered with pantiles, and the house has two storeys plus an attic. On the first floor, there are two 3-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor has two 4-paned sash windows next to contemporary six-panel doors. To the far right, there is a projecting former shop window with a 10-paned front and a cornice, above which is a display board with a ramped top. An internal stack is positioned just forward of the roof ridge. The interior has not been examined. This house is one of two that survived a significant fire in the village in 1744.
