Description

The churchyard cross base, located 20 meters south-west of the Church of St. Ethelbert, dates from the 15th century. It is made of limestone and features an octagonal base measuring approximately 0.8 meters across. The upper part of the base has a deep chamfer, while the lower part transitions to a square shape with heavy chamfer stops at ground level. The oblong tapering shaft has inset moulded pilasters at each corner, and there are slots for horizontal members on two sides. The shaft is significantly damaged about 1.5 meters above ground level and has been broken off in antiquity.
