Description

Hillside is a house built in 1780, constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It has two storeys and features a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a recessed bay, flanked by reeded bowed pilasters and adorned with paterae in block entablatures. Above the door is a reeded frieze. On either side of the entrance, there is an 8/8 unhorned sash window under gauged skewback arches. The first floor has two identical sash windows, each with a 6/6 configuration in between. To the right of the elevation, there is a blind recessed bay that previously had a doorway.

Inside, there is a closed-string stick-baluster staircase with a ramped handrail and column newels. The chimneypieces in the main ground-floor rooms were inserted in 1989.
