Description
Corner House is a farmhouse with a T-shaped plan, consisting of two sections. The south wing dates from the mid-16th century, while the north wing is likely later but has undergone significant alterations. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the north wing extended to the east, partly rebuilt using clay lump and 20th-century brick. It features pantiled roofs and stands two storeys high.
The south wing has three 19th-century casement windows and a lobby entrance with a mid-20th-century porch and door. There is an internal stack and a lean-to extension to the south. The north wing includes 19th-century casement windows and two boarded doors, along with a central axial stack and two 20th-century stacks against the front wall. The south wing remains mostly intact, showcasing heavy plain joists in the hall and evidence of cross-entry doorways. It also retains remnants of a crown-post roof. The north wing contains a significant amount of reused material from the 15th and 16th centuries, with considerable renewal in the mid-20th century.
