Description
Turkey Hall is a house dating from around 1600 to 1630, featuring a two-cell end-chimney plan. It has two storeys and attics, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. The roof is thatched, and there is an internal end chimney made of 17th-century red brick with a panelled shaft. The house has 20th-century casement windows and a boarded entrance door. Inside, there are original lintelled open fireplaces in both the hall and chamber, along with associated cupboards, doors, and a newel staircase, which has been altered at the base. The cross-passage remains intact, with twin chamfered doorways leading to service rooms, one of which is blocked. The original attic floor and windbraced clasped purlin roof are still present. Turkey Hall is an unusually complete example of a two-cell end-chimney house.
