Description

Rose Cottage is an early 18th-century house located in Langton Green. It is timber-framed with a brick plinth, and has a pantiled roof. The house is one storey high with a dormer attic. A central late 18th-century plank door is flanked by two 20th-century leaded three-light casement windows on either side. The facade is largely plastered, featuring raised panels with four plaster roses set at irregular intervals. The gabled roof incorporates two gabled dormers, each fitted with a 20th-century two-light casement. Gable-end stacks are present on the north and south sides; the southern stack has been rebuilt, while the northern one has multiple steps. A full-length rear outshut extends beneath a catslide roof, with 20th-century casement windows and a dormer that matches those at the front. The interior reveals a timber frame constructed of thin timbers, and contains an open fireplace in the north room.
