Description
Ipswich Labour Club and Institute is a late 18th century timber-framed and stucco house located at 1260 Silent Street. The building features a parapet and a stucco cornice, and it stands two storeys high with attics and cellars. It has a four-window range with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars, set in flush cased frames, although one window on the ground storey has 20th-century casements. A moulded wood band runs between the storeys. The paired central doorways are adorned with panelled reveals, fluted pilasters, pulvinated friezes, and segmental pediments. The roof is covered with 20th-century pantiles. This building, along with Nos 33 to 37 (odd) and No 37A, forms a group with Nos 24A, 26A, and Nos 28 to 32 (even).
