Description
Goldrood House is an early 19th century white brick house that is now part of St Joseph's College. It is two storeys tall. The southeast front features a large three-windowed bow at the southwest end, topped with a copper-roofed swept canopy above the first-storey windows, which has ornamental eaves. This bow is crowned by a dome covered in fish scale slates. At the northeast end, there is a projecting bay with three windows, and a smaller bay that projects in the centre of the ground storey. The windows throughout are generally double-hung sashes without glazing bars and have plain reveals.
On the southwest front, there is a three-window range, with the central section projecting and featuring an open portico on the ground storey supported by plain Ionic columns and a cornice. The ground storey also includes two square bays with three-light windows, pilasters, and a cornice. The northwest front has a large bow with a five-light window on the ground storey and a single window above. The roof is slate, shallow pitched, and has a panelled eaves soffit.
