Description
The King's Head Hotel, originally known as the King's Head Inn, is a house that has been converted into a hotel. It dates from the mid-18th century and was transformed into a public house in 1836, with 20th-century extensions added later. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a machine-tile roof with a brick stack located at the left end.
The exterior presents a single storey and a dormer attic, with a three-bay front facing the street. The central door is flanked by two flush-framed windows, each containing 8/8 unhorned sash windows. There is a dentil eaves cornice above. A single dormer window features a 3/6 horned sash. On the right side, there is a single-storey glazed attachment, while the rear of the building has two-storey extensions.
Inside, the original internal layout is uncertain as the interior has been opened into one space, and the first floor has been removed. The roof structure consists of principal rafters and trusses.
