Description
No. 25 High Street is a house with a shop that has been incorporated into No. 23, the King's Head Hotel. It dates from the early 19th century, with later alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof with no stacks.
The exterior is two stories tall and has a two-window range. There is a six-panelled door located to the right of the center, which is set under a gauged skewback arch. To the left of the door, there is a wide late 19th-century three-over-three horned display sash window that was part of the former shop. To the right of the door, you will find an early 19th-century bowed shop display window, which originally had horizontal glazing bars that have since been removed and replaced with two stiles and plate glass. On the first floor, there are two horned sash windows: one with a six-over-two configuration and the other with a six-over-six configuration. The building also features a dentil eaves cornice.
Inside, the space has been opened up into one room that is contiguous with No. 23 and is fitted with false timbers.
