Description

No. 22, High Street is an early 19th-century house with a 20th-century alteration. The front elevation is of red brick, while the remainder of the building is flint with brick dressings. The roof is covered in pantiles, featuring a brick centre stack.

The exterior presents a two-storey, single-window front. The ground floor incorporates a passageway opening to the rear on the left side, and a plank door on the right. Between these elements is an 8/8 hornless sash window. All three openings are covered by rendered and painted skewback arches. A single 8/8 hornless sash window is present on the first floor, also with a similar rendered arch. A dentil eaves cornice is a notable feature.

Internally, the ground-floor rooms have been opened into one large space, and a 20th-century staircase has been inserted.
