Description
63-67 Thoroughfare is a building complex dating from 1852, located on the north side of Thoroughfare. Originally constructed as a single building in the early 18th century, it now consists of three separate units. Number 63 features raised eaves with a parapet and stippled rendering. It has a three-light sash window on the first floor with glazing bars and a mid-19th century wooden shop front also with glazing bars. The entrance includes a six-panel door set in a wooden case with pilasters and a pediment.
Number 65 is finished in stucco lined to resemble ashlar stone, with a cove cornice and tiled roof. It has an early 19th century wooden shop front with glazing bars and pilasters, along with a four-panel door to the right that has an oblong fanlight above it.
Number 67 is similarly stuccoed and lined as ashlar, featuring a cove cornice and new pantiles at a lower pitch. Each floor has a recessed sash window, and there is a four-panel door with an oblong fanlight.
The buildings at 63 to 83 Thoroughfare are recognized as a cohesive group.
