Description
The Grange is a house located on the east side of Wickham Market High Street. It dates from the early 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition. The original part of the building is timber framed and plastered, while the later addition is constructed from gault brick, both covered with plain tiles. The house has two storeys and an attic, featuring a seven-window range on the north elevation, which extends to provide access to the church off Upper Street. The windows are sashes set in recessed frames with glazing bars, and there are flat gauged pedimented dormers. The entrance doorway is sheltered by a porch with Tuscan pilasters, a cornice, and a pediment, and it has a six-panel raised and fielded door. To the left side, there is a modern extension that projects forward. The building is topped with a moulded brick parapet and has three brick chimney stacks.
